About Me
We are living through a period of unprecedented change – with the impacts of AI, climate change, conflict and societal change are reshaping the world around us, which inevitably impact our health and wellbeing.
My work is guided by this reality and a question: how can we leave the world in a better position than we found it?
As a medical doctor, I realised treating human health goes well beyond the clinic room. Our health is shaped not only by biology, but by the families and communities we grow up in, and the systems that surround us. Psychological and social wellbeing are inseparable from the experience of health and disease.
To understand the forces that impact health and healthcare, I pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship at Stanford University in rare disease clinical trials, and later worked in the private sector as a pharmaceutical consultant. These experiences gave me perspectives on healthcare that extended beyond clinical medicine to wider systems that determine how healthcare is delivered.
Alongside medicine, I have always been drawn to the space where science, storytelling and the humanities intersect. As a medical student, I co-founded a student medical journal, The BSDJ, and in 2020 I began working with The BMJ, where I continue to explore and bring attention to some of the most important conversations shaping health and healthcare today.
